MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home Wednesday night for their final non-conference home game, facing Samford at 6 pm.

Admission is $5 and the game will be carried on the Hornet Sports Network.

Alabama State (1-7) returns home where they have won three of four games this season – includes a pair of exhibition games – and look to end a two-game skid after losses to North Alabama (at home) and on the road at Dayton. The two teams have met six times in school history with Alabama State leading the series 4-2, including winning three of four in Montgomery. The two last met on December 8, 1992, with Samford winning 86-76.

GAME NOTES

• Alabama State has played without Trace Young (Owensboro, Ky.) and DJ Jackson (San Bernardino, Calif.) over the course of the last four games – Young (four games)/Jackson (two).
• The Hornets have started five different lineups thus far with the lineup of Reyna, Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.), Liddell, Range, and O'Neal winning two of their three games.
• The Hornets have played six of their eight regular season contests on the road, and half of their games (including the exhibition games) away from home heading into tonight's game.
• The game between Alabama State and Samford will be the final home game for the Hornets until the second week of January, with the Hornets hitting the road for six consecutive games.
• Alabama State was shooting better than their opponents heading into last week, however, they enter the game tonight just behind their opponents who are shooting 43.9 (233-of-531) percent from the floor. Meanwhile, the Hornets are shooting 43.8 (204-of-464) percent from the floor.
• Christian McCray (Las Vegas, Nev.) is averaging 8.0 points off the bench this season for Alabama State and is averaging 0.7 points per minute played (11.5 minutes/game).
• The game against Samford will be the fourth game of the season against a team from the state of Alabama for the Hornets as they faced Mobile and Tuskegee (both exhibition games), while facing North Alabama in the regular season.
