@BamaStateBB heads to Samford for mid-week contest

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road for the fourth consecutive game to open the 2021 season, facing Samford in a Tuesday afternoon contest.

The game begins at 4 pm in Birmingham, and the first 250 fans will be admitted into the stadium due to socially distant seating.

Alabama State (0-3) looks to get back on track after dropping three games at the Jacksonville State Round Robin Tournament this past weekend. The Hornets dropped games to Jacksonville State (5-3), Tennessee Tech (5-3), and Southern Illinois (13-1). Santiago Garcia leads Alabama State in hitting through the opening weekend, hitting .400 with a pair of doubles while AJ Gardner with a pair of runs batted in.

Meanwhile, Samford (3-0) enters the weekend following a three-game sweep of UT-Martin.
