Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Bradley used a four-run first inning and Alabama State couldn't respond, falling in the first game of the series 18-1 Friday night at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.

Bradley used a pair of RBI singles and an RBI double in the first off starter Alexander Castro (0-1), the first of seven pitchers used on the night by the Hornets. They would add to the lead with another in the fourth and two more in the fifth before Alabama State got on the board when Cristopher DeGuzman singled to left to score Chris Lewis.

But the Braves added to the lead with three more in the sixth to pull away. Abner Benitez, DeGuzman, and Lewis each picked up hits for the Hornets in the loss.

The two teams will meet in the second game of the series with first pitch scheduled for 6 pm, and due to COVID-19 protocols only those listed on the player pass list will be admitted into the venue due to socially distant seating. Alabama State is a mask mandatory campus, as are each of the athletic venues.
