HUNTSVILLE, Ala. |Â Alabama State finished second at the AAMU Invitational Tuesday afternoon at RTJ at Hampton Cove after a final round score of 306.
The Hornets finished the tournament at 30-over par (894), tied with Arkansas-Pine Bluff and 13 shots behind first place DePaul (17-over 881). The remainder of the field featured Miles (39-over), Snead State (62-over) and Alabama A&M (140-over).
Mile's Anthony Lumpkin finished as the low medalist at one-under (215), finishing two shots ahead of Conor Glennon of DePaul, and four shots ahead of All-Tournament selection
Afnan Chowdhury who finished fourth at 219.
Alabama State had all five golfers finish in the top 20, with
Thacher Neal finishing tied for seventh at seven-over (223) while
Bishop Stringer rounded out the top ten at eight-over (224).
Noel Sims finished tied for 18th (16-over 232) followed by
Thomas Caddell who finished tied for 20
th (17-over 233).
Alabama State returns to action April 3 in the Florida A&M Invitational at the St. James Bay Golf Resort in Carrabelle, Florida.
