HAMPTON, Ga. | Alabama State University men's golf captured the team title at the Bulldog Classic, finishing atop the field after two rounds at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club in Hampton, Georgia.

The Hornets posted a two-round total of 592 (+16), edging Texas Southern by two strokes (594, +18) to secure the championship. Arkansas-Pine Bluff finished third at 599 (+23), followed by Southern (604, +28) and Alabama A&M (615, +39).

Alabama State set the tone with an opening-round even-par 288 before closing with a 304 (+16) to hold off a late push from Texas Southern.

Individually, Quade Woods led the Hornets with a tie for second-place finish at 145 (+1). Woods opened with a strong 70 (-2) in round one and followed with a 75 (+3) to remain near the top of the leaderboard throughout the tournament.

The Hornets placed four golfers inside the top 12, showcasing depth across the lineup. Wesley Bairros Rodrigues finished sixth overall at 148 (+4), carding rounds of 72 (E) and 76 (+4). Alberto Banos added a tie for seventh-place finish at 149 (+5) with rounds of 73 (+1) and 76 (+4), while Telmo Sueiro rounded out the top performers with a tie for 11th at 150 (+6), posting scores of 73 (+1) and 77 (+5).

Additional contributors included Osiregbeme Egbakhumeh, who finished 28th at 166 (+22), and individual competitor Chotithuch Wangpaibulkit, who placed 27th at 161 (+17).

Texas Southern's Bradley Lavinier claimed medalist honors with a two-round total of 142 (-2), highlighted by a final-round 69 (-3).

With the victory, Alabama State demonstrated consistent scoring and strong lineup balance, placing multiple players in contention and ultimately securing the team title in a tightly contested field.
