NASHVILLE, Tenn. | Alabama State picked up a pair of wins over ranked opponents on day of the Music City Classic Saturday.

Alabama State picked up wins over fifth-ranked Louisiana Tech (983-971) and followed that up with a win over 21st-ranked UAB (926-854). However, they also dropped three matches on the day to 10th-ranked Stephen F. Austin (948-867), Tusculum (903-851) and sixth-ranked Sam Houston (968-789).

The tournament concludes with a best of seven series format Sunday.
