MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State opens the 2022 portion of their schedule with Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action at the SWAC West Roundup in Dallas.
The three-day event will begin Friday morning and run through Sunday at USA Bowl.
Alabama State (40-24) last took to the lanes back on November 21 when they finished second in the ISTAP Hornet Classic in Montgomery. So far this season, the Lady Hornets have faced off against conference competition 30 times this season and dropped just three of those matches, including winning their first eight.
Joining the Lady Hornets in conference action this weekend are defending conference champion and nationally ranked Prairie View A&M, Grambling State, Jackson State, Southern, Texas Southern, Alabama A&M, and Florida A&M. The West Roundup is the first of two conference competitions that determine the regular season conference champion.
The tournament will not follow the normal format of collegiate bowling tournaments, as each day over the weekend will be traditional play. The tournament begins on Friday morning with five traditional matches and resumes Saturday with the same schedule. The final day of the tournament will begin at 9 am (Sunday) and feature four matches.
The scheduled will determined Friday morning as teams draw numbers prior to play beginning.
