VALLEY, Ala. - The ASU Cross Country teams ran their third competition on October 1st, 2022 as they traveled to Valley, AL to the Skyhawk Valley Invitational hosted by Point University.
The Lady Hornets ran first (5K) followed by the Hornet men (8K) to round up the Invitational.Â
Shamia Jones (18:11) placed third of the competition with her astounding time shattering her personal best, shaving off one minute and 21 seconds. Taliah Wickett (19:34) placed in the top 15 also having a personal best this meet where her previous time was 22:59.70 from her first 5K. Deleverna Broomfield (21:13) ran a personal best, shaving off over two minutes of her time. Yazmin Grace (24:51), Zackariya Beasley (26:02), Jasmine Kennerson (29:31) rounded up the Lady Hornets all having personal bests for the year as the women placed sixth overall with 143 points.Â
In the 8K men's race, Christian Myles (27:54) and Amos Beadle (28:10) both ran a personal best staying in the top 20 out of 63 competitors. Myles and Beadle were able to shave off under one minute of their personal best for the season. Jon Coulter (29:17), Khabeeba Mills (29:40), and Preston Walton (31:50) rounded up the Hornets to secure fifth place overall scoring 148 points.Â
