Lady Hornets Open Day One of Rattler Invitational

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Alabama State University women's bowling team opened its 2022 season on Friday (Oct. 7) with five baker matches in the FAMU Rattler Invitational, hosted by Florida A&M, at the STRIKERZ Entertainment Center in Pensacola, Fla.

The Lady Hornets (4-1) competed against three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents during day one of competition. ASU won the opening match, 842-785 over Florida A&M in baker play. ASU then defeated Emmanuel College, 943-927 in their second match. The Lady Hornets followed up with another victory as they took down Grambling State, 969-735, then claimed a victory over Jackson State, 954-939. 

Alabama State saw its first setback of the day as they fell short to Tulane University, 966-859.

Alabama State bowled an average game of 182.7 after day one of competition.

The Lady Hornets continue play on Saturday (Oct. 8), with Day 2 action, at the FAMU Rattler Invitational in Pensacola, Fla.
