Jones and Mohamed Compete in 2022 NCAA South Regionals

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama State juniors Shamia Jones and Abdiqadir Mohamed represented Alabama State at the 2022 NCAA South Regionals for Cross Country in Hunstville, Alabama on Friday (Nov. 11).

Shamia Jones finished NCAA South Regionals with a time of 24:07.20 for a 209th place finish in the women's 6K race. Jones posted career bests this season in the 6K at the UAB Blazer Classic (23:40.5) with a 52nd-place finish, the Skyhawk Valley Invitational 5K race with a third-place finish (18:11.7), and the Jacksonville State Foothills 4K with 34th place finish (15:42.4).

Abdiqadir Mohamed did not finish the men's 10K race at the NCAA South Regionals. Mohamed posted a career-best in the UAB Blazer Classic 8K Race with a 10th-place finish (24:26.8).
