Alabama State picks up pair of wins at Mid-Winter Invitational

JONESBORO, Ark. | Alabama State picked up a pair of wins on the first day of the Mid-Winter Invitational presented by Kalmer Solutions at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.

Alabama State (61-36, 17-7 SWAC) went 2-3 head-to-head on day one of competition, picking up a 929-840 win over Jackson State and a 1,029-983 win over Maryville. The Hornets dropped matches against a host Arkansas State (1,101-999), Youngstown State (981-921) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (995-836) to round out the day.
 
Alabama State is currently 13th in total pinfall after day one with 4,714 total pins in the Baker matches, 48 behind Lincoln Memorial and 274 pins outside of the top ten.

UP NEXT
Alabama State returns to action on day two of the Mid-Winter Classic with five traditional matches. The Lady Hornets are scheduled to face Maryville, Tulane, Tusculum, Kentucky Wesleyan, and McKendree on day two of competition.
