MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State stayed undefeated in conference play with a 4-1 victory over Alcorn State at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Pod II hosted at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center on Monday.
Doubles Play
- Alabama State dropped the doubles' point to Alcorn State after dropping matches at number one and three.
- The number two team of Ruan Du Preez (Cape Town, South Africa) and teammate Samrakshyak Bajracharya (Katmandu, Nepal) were tied at 5-all when the point was decided.
Singles Play
- Alabama State claimed four wins in singles play including a win at number three by Bajracharya in three sets over Luka Andonov 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. They also won a match at number four where Kristofer Johnson (Bromley, UK) picked up a three-set win over Luka Rodic 1-6, 6-0, 6-3.
- The Hornets also picked up a win at number five where David Jeanne Grandinot (Lisieux, France) picked up 6-3, 6-4 victory; followed by a 6-2, 6-1 win by Matis Amier (Epernay, France) at number six.
