Alabama State returns home for key series

Hornets and Jackson State are tied atop the East Division

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State and Jackson State meet in a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series early in the season on Friday and Saturday with the two teams tied atop the standings in the East Division. The two are just one-half game ahead of Mississippi Valley State and one game ahead of Bethune-Cookman in the standings.

Alabama State (12-14. 4-2 SWAC) enters the weekend after dropping their series on the road at Bethune-Cookman on the weekend, while Jackson State (13-11, 4-2) enters after winning their series over Alabama A&M on the road. The series at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex is the second at home this season after sweeping Florida A&M two weeks ago. The series begins with a single game at 3 pm on Friday, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12 noon.

About the Hornets
