MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a 5-4 contest to Troy at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium on Tuesday night in their only non-conference game this week. The Hornets had their chances throughout the night including in the ninth when they got the tying run to third before a groundout to end the contest.
Alabama State (12-13) fought from behind most of the night with a pair of runs in the third and one in the eighth before having a chance in the ninth.
Cristopher DeGuzman (Fajardo, PR) and
Hunter May (Slidell, La.) picked up a pair hits, while
Luis Rodriguez (Canovanas, PR) suffered the loss and was one of four pitchers used on the night.

- T2 | Clay Stearns got the Trojans on the board with a two-run home run (2-0, Troy).
- T3 | Kyle Mock extended the lead for Troy with a sacrifice fly that scored Jesse Hall (3-0, Troy).
- B3 | Alabama State trimmed the road on a double by Cristopher DeGuzman down the left field line that scored Corey King (Lithonia, Ga.) and Jabronski Williams (Troy, Ala.) for the Hornets (3-2, Troy).
- B4 | Trenton Jamison (Atlanta, Ga.) scored on a wild pitch (3-3).
- T5 | Seth Johnson doubled down the left field line to score two runs (5-3, Troy).
- B8 | After a Hunter May (Slidell, La.) double, the junior scored on an RBI groundout by Jamison (5-4, Troy).
