MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home for the second consecutive weekend in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play, hosting in-state foe Alabama A&M in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
Alabama State (14-17, 6-3 SWAC) leads the East Division by one-half game over Mississippi Valley State and a full game over Jackson State and Bethune-Cookman, while Alabama A&M (7-16, 2-6 SWAC) trails by four games in the win column. The two teams have met twice this season in non-conference play with Alabama State winning both of those contests.
The Hornets lead the series 29-15 since 2009, including winning the last six games. The series begins with a doubleheader on Friday at 3 pm (second game at 5 pm), followed by a single game on Saturday at 1 pm.

- Timarion Tinsley leads the team in the circle with a 3.00 earned run average, while Alyssa Lopez has a 2-3 record with a 3.99 earned run average. Paige Scott is 13-8 on the season with 4.30 earned run average and 35 strikeouts.
