DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. | Alabama State finished fourth at the TNBA/HBCU Invitational on Sunday after entering bracket play as the top seed, leaving the Hornets with one regular season tournament before the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championships.

How It Happened

• Alabama State (75-43) dropped their first match of bracket play to Morgan State 4-2, despite a tie in the first game of the match. Morgan State claimed the early lead before Alabama State won the second game 176-165. The two teams split the third game (206-206) before Bears closed out the match with a pair of wins.
• The Hornets faced Florida A&M with a berth in the championship, falling to the Rattlers 4-0 before facing Coppin State in the third-place match. The Hornets fell to Coppin State 4-0 to finish fourth overall.

Individual Play

• Savanna Razor (Columbia, S.C.) led Alabama State in the tournament, finishing seventh overall with an average of 183.50 with 917 total pins, while teammate Bailee Chapman (Gonzales, La.) finished 15th overall with an average of 176.80 and 884 total pins.
• Lyric O'Steen (Southfield, Mich.) rounded out the top 20 for the Hornets, finishing 19th overall with an average of 169.60 and 848 total pins. Alahna DeGruy (Kenner, La.) finished 35th overall and Emily Price (Morgan City, La.) 40th overall.
