ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama State dropped a 10-6 road non-conference contest to Georgia State just three days before they face Jackson State on ESPNU on the road.
Alabama State (16-22, 8-7 SWAC) dropped its second consecutive game but were able to put together eight hits in the loss.
Jazmine Dodd (Bentonville, Ark.) led the Hornets at the plate finishing 3-for-4 with a home run, while
Jaeda Gardner (Pike Road, Ala.) finished 2-for-4 in the game.
Elle Lunsford (Lawrenceville, Ga.) suffered the loss working 4.0 innings in the start allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits with three strikeouts.
How It Happened
- T3 | Dodd singled up the middle to drive home Kat McGlamry (Crawfordville, Fla.) for the game's first run (1-0, Alabama State).
- B3 | Georgia State tied the game up on a single to third (1-1).
- T5 | Dodd put Alabama State again with the team's first home run, a two-run shot to right center (3-1, Alabama State).
- B5 | The Panthers scored six in the fifth to take the lead including a three-run home run (7-3, Georgia State).
- B6 | Georgia State added three more runs to push the lead to six (10-3, Georgia State).
- T7 | Dodd and Zoey Disroe (Lilburn, Ga.) pulled off a double steal to score a run before Gardner singled to center to score Dodd and scored on a wild pitch herself (10-6, Georgia State).
