MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home for the first time since April 2 when they host Bethune-Cookman in a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series beginning on Friday at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex. The series starts at 3 pm on Friday followed by a second game and will conclude on Saturday at 1 pm.
Alabama State (17-24, 9-9 SWAC) sits in fourth currently in the SWAC East Division and will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday in the final Saturday game in Montgomery. The Hornets will also celebrate the 2021 SWAC Softball Championship on Friday afternoon between games.
The Hornets and Bethune-Cookman met earlier this season with the Wildcats winning the series with wins in the first two games, while Alabama State won the third game. Alabama State enters the weekend two games back of Bethune-Cookman, the East Division leaders, and one game back of Florida A&M.
