MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State fell to No. 16 Auburn in their final regular season home game at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex 8-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Hornets close out the regular season on the road at Florida A&M this weekend.
Alabama State picked up four hits, all by different players, in the loss including
Kindall DeRamus (Helena, Ala.),
Destinee Dixon (Bullard, Texas),
Kiana Parrish (Stockton, Calif.) and
Jaeda Gardner (Pike Road, Ala.).
Elle Lunsford (Lawrenceville, Ga.) took the loss, working 5.0 innings and allowing eight runs (three earned) on five hits.
How It Happened
- T1 | Jessie Blaine tripled to right center for the first run of the game before Bri Ellis drove home a run on a sacrifice fly (2-0, Auburn).
- T3 | Makayla Packer scored on an inside park home run before Ellis doubled down the line (5-0, Auburn).
- T5 | Auburn pulled off a double steal before Ellis tripled to left center and Rose Roach reached on an error to drive in another (8-0, Auburn).
