TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Alabama State and Florida A&M battled to extra innings before Destiny Cuevas hit a two-run home run to left to walk off the Hornets in a 4-2 Florida A&M victory in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action.
Alabama State (18-29, 10-12 SWAC) was held to just two hits by Florida A&M (18-27, 12-10 SWAC) starter Peppers who finished the game allowing two runs (none earned) while walking 10 batters.
Bailey Greenlee (Snohomish, Wash.) allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits with five strikeouts.
How It Happened
- T1 | Arianna Atchley (Millbrook, Ala.) drove home a run on a bases loaded infield fly to third that scored Jazmine Dodd (Bentonville, Ark.) from third (1-0, Alabama State).
- B4 | Cuevas doubled to left center to score Desirae Beacham to tie the game before Lauryn Peppers doubled down the left field line to give Florida A&M the lead (2-1, Florida A&M).
- T6 | Jaeda Gardner (Pike Road, Ala.) scored on a wild pitch (2-2).
- B9 | Cuevas walked off the game with a two-run home run to left (4-2, Florida A&M).
