MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State and Florida A&M are set for a key three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series in Tallahassee beginning Friday afternoon at 1 pm (ET). The two will meet in a doubleheader on Saturday with the winner of the series earning a berth in the conference tournament.
Alabama State (18-28, 10-11 SWAC) enters the weekend after a loss to No. 16 Auburn on Wednesday and swept Florida A&M (17-27, 11-10 SWAC). The Hornets will qualify for the conference tournament with a pair of wins over the Rattlers and can also qualify with one win and series sweep by Alabama A&M over Mississippi Valley State.

About the Hornets
- Kindall DeRamus (Helena, Ala.) leads Alabama State with a .420 average while stealing 33 bases (on 38 attempts), while Jazmine Dodd (Bentonville, Ark.) is hitting .358 on the year.
