Men's Cross Country

Hornet Men and Women XC Compete at The Foothills Invitational to Open The Season

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - In their first outing of the 2022 season, the Alabama State women's cross country team finished 16th in the 4K while the mens' team competed with three runners in their respective 5K race at the Foothills Invitational on September 2, 2022.

Shamia Jones led the way for the Lady Hornets with a 34th place finish and a time of 15:42.40 followed by her teammate Taliah Wicket 128th place in 18:19:05. Yazmin Grace finished two spots behind Wicket in 130th (18:28.27). Deleverna Broomfield and Jasmine Kennerson rounded out the Hornets in competition as Broomfield finished in 143rd place (19:09.47) while Kennerson placed in 187th (28:07.98).

In the 5K men's race, Jon Coulter came in 95th overall with a time of 17:50.14 followed by his teammate Amos Beadle in 104th place (18:04.19). Rounding out the Hornets in competition is in 142nd place with a time of 19:33.82.

Alabama State cross country is back in action on Wednesday, September 10, 2022 as they head to Mobile, Alabama to compete in the USA Azelea Cross Country Invitational hosted by South Alabama.
