Hornets Finish Tied For Seventh at Howard-USF Invitational

POTOMAC, Md. - The Alabama State men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place out of nine teams at the Howard-USF Invitational at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farms. The Hornets shot a final round of 310 as a team and landed two individuals in the top 25.

Gonzalo Moreno led the way for Alabama State in the final round, shooting a 78 in the last 18 holes to finish in 20th place. 

Bishop Stringer saw an improvement in round three. After finishing in 39th place yesterday, he wraps up play in a 25th place tie after carding a final round of 72. 

Ignacio Puente and Miguel Ilas both finish tied for 36th. Puente registered a final round of 78 while Ilas turned in an 82 to finish the invitational. 

Jeffery Roberts rounds out the Hornets in play, shooting a final round of 83 to finish tied for 46th place.

Alabama State men's golf returns to play next Monday (Oct. 3) as they head to Jackson, Tennessee to compete in the Grover Page Classic hosted by UT-Martin.
