Diez Dorta and Siebeneck Secure Top-10 Finishes at Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Alabama State women's golf team finished in third place out of a field of five teams at the Lady Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T. The Lady Hornets fired a final round of 312 after shooting rounds of 302 and 296 in rounds one and two.

Teresa Diez Dorta shot the low round of the day for the Hornets, firing a final round of 74 to finish in a tie for seventh place. First-year Hornet Franca Siebeneck finds herself in a tie for seventh place also after carding a 76 in round three to finish at 9-over.

Katie Robinson fired an 83 in the final 18 holes to finish in a 17th place tie.

Thayia Kittiyanaruewat finished the Invitational with a round of 79 to finish tied for 19th place. 

Western Carolina won the Aggie Invitational after shooting a final round of 284 as a team.

QUOTING HEAD COACH QUINCY HEARD

"I'm really happy for the girls. There were many personal collegiate best scores and lots of great effort. I believe this is definitely something to build on. It's a long season and anything can happen in this game."  

The Alabama State women's golf team returns to action on October 18th as they head to Ocean City, Maryland for the UMES Collegiate Golf Challenge hosted by Maryland Eastern Shore. The final round of that tournament is slated for Wednesday, October 19.
