WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. | Alabama State University women's golf closed out play at the 2026 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship with a sixth-place team finish, highlighted by a strong individual performance from Kierra Williams, who finished in a three-way tie for third overall.
Williams carded a three-round total of 226 to finish tied for third in the women's championship field after rounds of 76, 75 and 75. Her consistent play throughout the tournament helped pace the Hornets against a competitive national field.
As a team, Alabama State posted rounds of 320, 313 and 311 to finish sixth overall with a 54-hole total of 944. The Hornets improved their score in each round of the tournament, trimming nine strokes off their opening-round score over the final two days of competition.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi claimed the team championship with a total score of 917, while Texas Southern's Thaiz Amezcua earned medalist honors with a three-round total of 223.
Thayika Kittiyanaruewat also contributed for Alabama State, finishing tied for 15th overall with a 240 total across the three rounds.
The PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship brought together some of the nation's top collegiate golf programs and marked the conclusion of another successful season for the Hornets.
