Chatmon Claims 800th Win In ISTAP Hornet Classic Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University bowling won the ISTAP Lady Hornet Invitational as head coach Andrew Chatmon earned his 800th career win last weekend..

The Lady Hornets went 4-1 on day one to give Chatmon 801 career wins and went 10-3 overall on the weekend.

Alabama State entered Sunday's bracket play as the fourth seed before running through the bracket to bring home first place.

The Lady Hornets ground out a 4-2 first-round victory over third-seeded and rival Alabama A&M before upended top-seeded Florida A&M University 4-2.

Alabama State's final victim was second-seeded UAB, taking the Blazers down 4-3 to clinch back-to-back ISTAP Hornet Classic titles.

The event wrapped up the fall schedule for the Lady Hornets who return to action on January 19-21 at the SWAC West Round Up in San Antonio, Texas.
