Lady Hornets Bowling Takes On Tough Field at Track Kat Clash

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University Women's Bowling team returns to the lanes at the 2023 Sam Houston State Track Kat Klash on November 3-5 at the Emerald Bowl in Houston, Texas.
 
A heavy weight field that features nine ranked teams awaits the Lady Hornets this weekend.
 
The ranked teams schedule to compete are No. 3 Nebraska, No. 5 North Carolina A&T, No. 8 Sam Houston State, No. 9 Maryville, No. 10 Louisiana Tech, No. 12 Univeristy of Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 13 Newman, No. 19 Central Missouri State and No. 21 Lincoln Memorial.
 
Rounding out the field with Alabama State is Grambling State, Prairie View A&M, Lewis, Oklahoma Christian, Southern and Texas Southern.
 
Friday's competition will be five games of Baker sets followed by team game matches on Saturday and bracket play on Sunday.
 
Friday and Saturday's action starts at 9:30 a.m. following check in and meetings, while Sunday's competition scheduled for 8:20 a.m.
 
Head Coach Andrew Chatmon enters the weekend 12 wins shy of 800 wins for his career. He is in his 16th season over the Alabama State Women's Bowling program. He has been named Coach of the Year four times and has won two SWAC Regular season and two SWAC Tournament titles (2017, 2022) during his tenure.
