COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Alabama State men's track and field team saw three records fall and one meet champion while setting several personal records at the University of South Carolina Invitational.
Victor Smith highlighted the two-day event by winning gold in the 60-meter dash with an ASU record time of 6.69.

"I am very please with how the team competed today," said Head Coach Ritchie Bean. "I was not happy after yesterday and I expressed the expectations in our team meeting last night. I think it showed out there today."
USC MEN'S NOTABLES
- Victor Smith won gold in the 60-meter sprint, setting a new ASU record in the process with 6.69.
- The 200-meter open saw Smith place third with a 21.57 while Joshua Knox posted a season-best 21.77 for fifth place.
- Matthew Clark turned in a third-place finish in the 200-meter Invite, running a personal-best 21.46.
- Kendrick Winfield took fifth in the 400-meter open, with a season-best 48.44.
- Knox put in a time of 48.56 to take ninth in the 400-meter invite.
- In the 800-meter, Amos Beadle was fifth with a 1:52.36 followed by Khabeeba Millis in seventh with a 1:54.04, season bests for both runners.
- Abdiqadir Mohamed turned in an ASU record time of 15:02.08 and Josh Jenkins was seventh with a season and personal best time of 15.13.91 in the 5000-meter.
- The A-Team of Knox, Winfield, Daquan Tate, and Jamarion Stubbs times 43:12.58 in the 4x400 meter breaking their two-week-old mark with a 3:12.58
- The 4x400 B of Team of Justus Trainer, Victor Smith, Khabeeba Mills, and Amos Beadle took ninth with a 3:14.15.
- Vaughn Devaughn III was fifth with a 1.90-meter vault.
- Daniel Bayshea brought home fifth with a distance of 13.77 meters in the shot put.
USC WOMEN'S NOTABLES
- Jaqual Bush placed second in the 200-meter, running a personal-record 24.21
- Shawnakay Peart clocked a season-best 24.91 for eighth place in the 200-meters.
- Morgan O'Neal turned in a 54.51 to place fourth in the 400-meters.
- Shamia Jones set a personal record, running a 2:09.87 for a top 10 finish in the 800-meters
- The team of O'Neal, Jones, Taliah Wicket and Kahliyah Anderson posted a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a 3.50.90.
- Ja'Nyyiah Davis second in the high jump open with a height of 1.55 meters.
