Box Score 2 DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | After game one loss, the Alabama State University baseball team rebounded with an emphatic 11-3 win over Bethune-Cookman University in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 1
- Randy Flores singled and scored on a Jack Hay two-out single to give ASU a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
- Garrett Chun doubled and scored on a Robert Moya single to tie the game in the bottom of the first.
- The game remained 1-1 until the top of the fifth. Jamal George led off with a solo home run and Trent Jamison went deep with Randy Flores aboard on a walk to make the score 4-1.
- Boris Pena tied the game 4-4 with a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.
- Hylan Hall doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Wildcats a 5-4 lead.
ON THE MOUND | GM 1
- ASU starter Omar Melendez (3-0) tossed 6.0 innings, allowing four runs on five hits with three strikeouts but did not figure into the decision.
- Nolan Santos (2-1) stuck out 12 while allowing four runs on eight hits in 7.0 innings pitched.
- Sabastian Colon (1-1) allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts as the pitcher of record for the Hornets.
- Joan Gonzalez (3-1) yielded one hit over 2.0 innings in relief to earn the win.
INSIDE THE BOX | GM 1
- George went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and one RBI.
- Jamison had a home run with two RBI.
- Kyler McIntosh and Corey King had a double apiece.
HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 2
- Ian Matos had an RBI double and Kyler McIntosh delivered a two-RBi single to stake the Hornets to a 3-0 in the first inning.
- Alabama State erupted for five runs to make the score 8-0 in the second.
- Randy Flores had an RBI single followed by a Jamison RBI double. Matos had RBI single to plate Jamison and Jack Hay capped off the inning with a two-run home run.
- The Wildcats scored a run in the fourth to trim the deficit to 8-1.
- Cristian Lopez's two-run single in the top of the seventh pushed ASU's lead to 10-1.
- A Hall infield single in the bottom of the seventh made the score 10-2.
- Flores singled home Sloan for an 11-2 ASU lead in the top of the ninth.
- Hall reached on an infield single to score the final and cap the scoring.
ON THE MOUND | GM 2
- Ricardo Rivera (3-0) allowed one run on four hits with five strikeouts over 5.0 innings to pick up the win.
- Daniel Gaviria (2-2) was touched up for six runs on six hits with a strikeout in 1.1 innings pitched to take the loss.
- Luis Rodriguez allowed one run on three hits over 3.0 innings in relief of Rivera.
INSIDE THE BOX | GM 2
- Matos went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored.
- Lopez, Flores, McIntosh, and Lopez each drove in two runs.
- Flores and McIntosh collected two hits apiece.
- Hay is now second on the team after belting his fourth home run of the season.
