ARLINGTON Texas | The Alabama State University bowling team's bid for back-to-back SWAC Bowling titles came up short, falling to Prairie View A&M 4-1 in the championship match on Sunday at ITRC Lanes.
The Lady Hornets got out of the gates slow and never recovered, dropping the first two games to Prairie View A&M, 181-179 and 211-185.
Alabama State bounced back in game three, winning 197-161 only to see Prairie View win the next two games 200-162 and 179-161.
The Lady Hornets defeated Jackson State University and Florida A&M in the semifinals to advance to Sunday's championship match with Prairie View.
Alabama State closed a successful season as the SWAC Regular Season and Tournament Runner Up while winning two tournaments during the regular season.
