BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference selected Alabama State University's Kindall DeRamus and as this week's SWAC Softball Hitter of the Week honors for her outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
 
DeRamus hit. 692 with a .692 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage. She also was 4-of-4 in stolen bases with three RBI for the week. DeRamus went 5-for-5 with three steals, three runs scored and an RBI from the leadoff spot against Mississippi Valley State. She went 4-for-8 with two RBI and a stolen base in the Bethune-Cookman series.

Alabama State returns tot he diamond for a SWAC series against Jackson State beginning with a doubleheader at the Barbara Wiliams Softball Complex on Friday at 3 p.m.
