BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University shot a plus-14, 302 to climb into a fourth-place finish at the PGA Works Collegiate Championships at Shoal Creek Country Club on Wednesday.

The Hornets started the day tied for seventh before climbing three sports to take fourth place with a 902 54-hold total. Alabama State opened the tournament with a 309 before improving 16 strokes with a 293 team-aggregate score in the second round. Â

Gonzalo Moreno and Bishop String were the top Alabama State individuals, tying for 15th with an 11-over, 226. Â

Moreno shot two over on the par threes, tying for fourth in the tournament field. Â

Ignacio Puente tied for sixth with 10 birdies followed by Moreno in seventh with nine birdies. Â

The Hornets tied for second with 150 pars in the tournament, while their 34 birdies ranked sixth. Â
The PGA Works Collegiate Championship wrapped up the 2022-23 season for the Hornets.Â
