AUBURN Ala. | Alabama State dropped its season opener on the road to Auburn 7-0 at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Sunday.
Auburn (1-0) was able to grab a pair of singles points with wins at number one and three, with the Hornets' number one doubles team of
David Jeanne Grandinot and
Matteo Lataste dropping a hard-fought 6-4 decision.
In singles play, Grandinot dropped a tough 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) match to No. 58 Raul Dobai, while
Alexandre Verlaguet dropped a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) decision to Alejandro Moreno at number three.
