MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State softball released the 2024 schedule that features three home tournaments and 32 home games at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex beginning Friday, Feb. 9 with the Stinger Classic.
 
Alabama State (30-21 last season) opens the 2024 slate at home with the Stinger Classic with games against Hampton (Feb. 9), Houston Christian (Feb. 10), Purdue Fort Wayne (Feb. 10), and Western Carolina (Feb. 11). They will also host Samford on Tuesday, Feb. 13, before their first road game on Feb. 14 against Troy.
 
The Hornets head to Atlanta for five games in the HBCU Collegiate Softball Tournament running Feb. 16-18, before returning home for a doubleheader against Tuskegee on Feb. 21 that begins an 11-game homestand. During the homestand, Alabama State hosts the HBCU Celebration Tournament (Feb. 23-25) and the Black & Gold Tournament (March 1-3), with a game against Eastern Illinois in between on Thursday, Feb. 29.
 
Alabama State heads back to Atlanta on Mar. 6 to face Georgia State before opening Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play at home against Jackson State (March 8-9). They will face Faulkner in a doubleheader on March 12 before heading to Daytona Beach to face Bethune-Cookman (March 15-16) in conference action.
 
Following the trip to Florida, Alabama State returns home to face Mississippi State in a doubleheader at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex on March 20 before a four-game road swing that features Mississippi Valley State (March 22-23) and Samford (March 27).
 
The Hornets close out March hosting Alabama A&M (March 29-30) and open April on the road at Jacksonville State (April 3) to start a five-game road swing. During the road swing, Alabama State faces Florida A&M (April 5-6) and Georgia Tech (April 9) in a return trip to Atlanta.
 
Following that swing, Alabama State hosts Mississippi Valley State (April 12-13) before a trip to  2023 national runner-up Florida State on April 17. They close out the regular season with back-to-back conference series beginning with Bethune-Cookman at home (April 19-20) and ending with Jackson State (April 26-27) before the conference tournament.
