MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to the field for the first time since Saturday after having its last two home dates washed away due to rain, traveling to Troy to face the Trojans on Wednesday afternoon.

The two will hit the field for a 4 p.m. first pitch on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN+. The two teams have met 26 times in school history including last season when the Lady Hornets fell 5-2 to Troy after a four-run first inning.

Alabama State (1-2) enters the contest after winning its last game of the Stinger Classic over Purdue Fort Wayne 5-2 on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Troy (4-2) enters the contest after dropping its last game of the Trojan Invitational to Samford on Sunday.

Alabama State Notes
- Kindall DeRamus, the two-time SWAC Player of the Year, was named Preseason Player of the Year again by the conference this season and opened the season hitting .455 (5-for-11) with a double and two runs batted in.
- Meanwhile, Brooke Ramsey picked up three hits on the opening weekend of play to finish the weekend at .375 for the Lady Hornets.
- DeRamus was one of three players named First Team Preseason All-SWAC this year, joining Jaeda Gardner and Alexia Denby.
- DeRamus moved into fifth all-time at the school after the weekend with 205 career hits, leaving her two shy of Meagan Dixon (2011-14) for fourth-place all-time and just 10 shy of tying Kenisha McKee (1999-2002) for the record at the school. She is also tied for sixth all-time at the school in runs scored.
- In the circle, Ashley Pye made a pair of appearances over the weekend and finished 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 4.1 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Charity Bibbs (0-2) logged a team-high 10.0 innings pitched allowing five runs (four earned), and struck out five while not giving up a walk.
