TROY, Ala. | Troy used a seven-run second inning to push past Alabama State XX-XX in non-conference action at the Troy Softball Complex on Wednesday.
Charity Bibbs (0-3) suffered the loss for the Lady Hornets, working 2.0 innings and allowing seven runs off eight hits. She gave way to
Ashley Pye who worked the final 2.0 innings for Alabama State (1-3) allowing three runs off four hits with a strikeout.
Libby Grace (3-0) picked up the win for the Trojans working a complete-game victory and holding Alabama State hitless.
How It Happened
- (B2) Audra Thompson scored a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to right by Makaley Boswell followed by an RBI single to left center by Natalie Turner to score Jillian Williams. The Trojans added to the lead with an RBI single up the middle by D'Aun Riggs to score Sarah Beth Brake before a two-run single by Jade Sinness extended the lead. The inning stayed alive with a sacrifice fly to foul territory in right by Anslee Finch and an RBI single to center by Thompson, Troy 7-0.
- (B3) Sinness drew a one-out bases-loaded walk to score Boswell before a fielder's choice scored Turner from third, Troy 9-0.
- (B4) Cassidy Boltz led off the inning with a pinch-hit triple down the right field line before scoring on an RBI single by Baker, Troy 10-0.
