Box Score 2 ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama State pounded out seven hits but it was one big hit from North Carolina Central that won the opening game for the Eagles 4-3 at the HBCU Collegiate Softball Tournament.

Alabama State (2-4) battled back with a 5-1 victory over South Carolina State in its second game of the day.

Game One – vs. North Carolina Central

Kendall Smiley and
Jasmine Rogers each pounded out a pair of hits in the loss, while Smiley reached base a third time with a walk.
Ashley Pye (1-1), the first of three pitchers in the game, suffered the loss working 3.0 innings and allowing four runs off four hits with three strikeouts.

Game Two – vs. South Carolina State

Kindall DeRamus collected three hits in the final game of the day for the Lady Hornets including a double and triple. The Lady Hornets opened the scoring in the top of the second with a pair of triples including one from
Mickey Coslor.

Smiley and Coslor each collected multiple hits for the Lady Hornets, while
Charity Bibbs picked up the win in the circle working 4.0 innings and allowing one run off three hits with four strikeouts.
