BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Kindall DeRamus and
Charity Bibbs swept the Player of the Week awards this week, announced by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Wednesday afternoon.

DeRamus was named the SWAC Hitter of the Week after she finished the week hitting .471 in four games, going 8-for-14 at the plate – giving her 13 hits on the season and leaving her just two shy of tying the school's all-time hits record. The graduate student has 213 career hits, trailing only Keneshia McGee (1999-2002) at 215. For the week, DeRamus collected a pair of doubles and a triple, while scoring three runs and knocking in five more. She also slugged .857 and recorded a .625 on-base percentage while walking twice, and not striking out. DeRamus also recorded three stolen bases in five attempts for the Lady Hornets.

Meanwhile, Bibbs was named the SWAC Pitcher of the Week after she went 2-1 on the week for Alabama State, recording a 5.40 earned run average in five appearances with a pair of starts. Bibbs logged 13.1 innings allowing nine runs (eight earned) on 16 hits. She also recorded 12 strikeouts and walked just four.
