MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to action at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex continuing its homestand with a non-conference contest against in-state foe Samford on Tuesday afternoon.

Alabama State (7-7) has won four of its five games at home during the 12-game home stand that will finish off this weekend with the Black & Gold Tournament. The Hornets enter the contest after a hard-fought 8-5 victory over Alcorn State in a game that
Kindall DeRamus set the all-time hits record at the school.

She leads five players hitting over .300 this season, hitting .472 with nine runs scored and eight RBI.
Jaeda Gardner is hitting .452 with 11 runs scored, while
Kendall Smiley (.385),
Alexia Denby (.333), and
Brooke Ramsey (.324) are all over .300.
