MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to the action this afternoon against Eastern Illinois in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.
 
The game was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. as a single game, however, due to the weather forecast on Friday the game was moved to a doubleheader this afternoon. It is the eighth time the two teams will have met in school history, with Eastern Illinois holding a 6-1 advantage. The Lady Hornets are looking for their first win in the series since 5-0 victory in 2013.

Alabama State Notes

• The Lady Hornets have won back-to-back games at home and are currently 5-1 in the home stand. They have won seven of their last eight games.
• Alexia Denby was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Hitter of the Week after hitting .571 with a pair of doubles and a triple last week.
• Alabama State won in walk-off fashion over Samford in its last game on Tuesday, the second time they have won in walk-off fashion at home this season.
• Kindall DeRamus and Jaeda Gardner lead Alabama State in hitting, both over .400 this season. DeRamus is hitting .447 with seven stolen bases, while Gardner is hitting .424 with 11 runs scored.
• Ana Richiez is 3-0 with a pair of saves and a 2.38 ERA in 10 appearances this season, while Charity Bibbs is 3-4 with a save and a 2.22 ERA.
