MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a pair of games to Eastern Illinois at the Barbara Williams Complex on Thursday night, falling 10-0 in the opener and 7-2 in the nightcap.

In the opener, Alabama State was held to a pair of hits by Eastern Illinois, picked up by
Alexia Denby and
Brooke Ramsey.
Ashley Pye (2-3) suffered the loss working 3.0 innings in the start and allowing seven runs (six earned) on four hits.

In the nightcap,
Elizabeth Williams recorded a pair of hits leading six players who picked up at least one hit.
Charity Bibbs (3-5) suffered the loss working 3.1 innings in the start allowing seven runs on eight hits with a pair of strikeouts.

How It Happened (Game 1)
- (T1) Rachel Kaufman hit a sacrifice fly to right to score Kendall Grover, Eastern Illinois 1-0.
- (T2) Eastern Illinois used a wild pitch to push the lead to a pair, Eastern Illinois, 2-0.
- (T4) Grover extended the lead with a grand slam before Briana Gonzalez singled up the middle for a pair of RBIs, Eastern Illinois 8-0.
- (T5) Kaufman singled up the middle before scoring on the throw, Eastern Illinois 10-0.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- (T1) Kaufman had an RBI double to center to score Grover before K Davey connected on a two-run single and Gonzalez scored on a double steal, Eastern Illinois 4-0.
- (T2) Grover singled to left to score Sophie Cerveny, Eastern Illinois 5-0.
- (T4) Cerveny singled to left to score a pair of runs before being thrown out, Eastern Illinois 7-0.
- (B4) Williams scored JaNiyah Boykin on an RBI groundout before Kindall DeRamus scored Williams on an RBI groundout, Eastern Illinois 7-2.
