Clemson, South Carolina | The Alabama State track and field team put on a strong performance at the Bob Pollock Invitational, showcasing talent across multiple events and securing impressive finishes.
Leading the way was Jamarion Stubbs, who blazed through the 200m with a time of 20.91, cementing his position as one of the top sprinters in the competition. He also delivered a stellar performance in the 60m, clocking 6.72 seconds. Jaqual Bush also impressed in the 200m, finishing in 23.68.
In the mid-distance events, Jon Coulter competed in the 800m, finishing with a time of 1:55.97. Meanwhile, in the mile, Selket Reid El recorded a time of 5:11.27, while Ann Badawi finished in 5:12.01. They also posted strong results in the 3,000m, with Reid El finishing in 10:58.94 and Badawi in 10:31.10.
The women's 4x400m relay team battled to a sixth-place finish, crossing the line in 3:42.99.
In field events, Ja'Nyiah Davis showed her strength in the high jump, clearing 1.66m, while Yasmin Grace leaped to a mark of 5.78m in the long jump. On the men's side, Demarco Thompson clocked 8.06 in the 60m hurdles.
The Hornets will compete in the Blazer/Vulcan invitational on Feb. 7-8.
