BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University first baseman Juan Cruz and pitcher Jafet Martinez were named the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Hitter and Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday. 

Cruz batted .388 with two doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored in the four-game set against Southern Indiana. Cruz with a 1.668 OPS, slugged 1.118 and a ..550 on base percentage. 

Martinez tossed five shutout innings while allowing three base hits with three strikeouts in a 9-2 win over Southern Indiana.
