Three Hornets Earn SWAC Softball Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University's Bailee Williams, Kohana Pousson, and Mason Quinnie received SWAC Softball Weekly Student-Athletes of the Week honors on Wednesday.

Williams was named the Hitter of the Week, Pousson the Pitcher of the Week, and Quinnie the Newcomer of the Week. All three were instrumental in ASU's series sweep of Bethune-Cookman.

Williams .667 with a double, a homer, four RBI, and three runs scored. She reached base seven times in nine plate appearances for a .778 on-base percentage. The Tifton, Ga., slugged 1.333 and had a .960 fielding percentage in 25 fielding changes.

Pousson posted a 2-0 record with a 1.02 ERA and one complete game, winning both starts in the BCU series. She allowed just two earned runs in 13.2 innings pitched with six strikeouts against three walks.

Quinnie held BCU scoreless and scattered three hits over 6.0 innings with two strikeouts as ASU grabbed a 2-1 in extra innings in game two of the series.
