BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University's Brooke Ramsey was selected as the SWAC Hitter and Newcomer of the Week released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Ramsey hit .667, going 6-for-9 at the plate with a home run and eight RBI in a series sweep of Mississippi Valley State last weekend.
