MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State University and the Hornet Club proudly announce that the annual fund goal for the 2024–2025 giving year has been officially met—and surpassed. With an overwhelming show of support, the Hornet Club welcomed over
500 new investors and raised more than
$500,000 in support of ASU student-athletes.
This milestone reflects the unmatched momentum of
Hornet Athletics, widely recognized as the premier program in the
Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Once again, ASU has set the standard in giving, engagement, and competitive excellence—culminating in
seven SWAC Championships and another
Commissioner's Cup in 2025.
"The support from our alumni, fans, and community continues to be unmatched," said
Dr. Jason Cable,
Vice President/Director of Athletics. "This is about more than just hitting a goal—it's about building a sustainable foundation of dominance for the future of Hornet Athletics."
With this year's success, the Hornet Club now shifts focus to
retaining new investors,
growing individual investments, and
expanding the Club's reach through continued
annual giving and
NIL support.
The
Hornet Club serves as the
official fundraising arm of the Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and plays a critical role in ensuring the success and development of Hornet student-athletes through investment and engagement.
