MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University women's golf team turned in a strong showing on its home course, finishing second at the 2026 Alabama State Spring Golf Invitational on Tuesday at Arrowhead Country Club.
Alabama State posted a three-round total of 946 (+82) after rounds of 318, 317 and 311, finishing behind tournament champion Howard (879, +15) and ahead of Evansville (949, +85) in the seven-team field.
The Hornets placed three golfers inside the top 11 individually, led by Carmen Fletcher, who finished ninth overall with a 14-over 230 after rounds of 77, 77 and 76.
Kierra Williams also recorded a top-10 finish, tying for 10th with a 16-over 232. Williams closed the tournament with the best round by a Hornet, firing an even-par 72 in the final round to climb the leaderboard.
Thayika Kittiyanaruewat tied for 11th place at 17-over 233, posting rounds of 76, 80, and 77 during the 54-hole event.
Rounding out the Alabama State lineup, Iman Shah tied for 27th with a 251 (+35), while Lindsey Christiana Marcellus tied for 31st with a 260 (+44).
Howard dominated the individual leaderboard with four players finishing in the top eight, led by medalist Lena Durette, who captured the title with a 3-over 219.
