BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State shortstop Alana Scott and pitcher Kohana Pousson were named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday, April 28, 2026.

Scott hit .615 over four starts while leading the Hornets to a 3-1 record this week. She had three triples, a home run, and five RBI while slugging 1.308 with a 667 on-base percentage. Scott hit .667 with three triples, a home run, and four RBI in the series sweep of MVSU. Scott went 2-for-4 and drove in ASU's only run in a 4-1 loss against Jacksonville State (CUSA Regular Season Champs). Scott went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, and two RBI in the series opener against MVSU. She added two triples, two runs scored, and an RBI in game two.  Scott finished the series going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
