The Alabama State University bowling team will host its first ever ASU Hornet Classic Saturday and Sunday, November 10-11 at the Brunswick Woodmere Lanes.
The Lady Hornets are coming off a 7-5 weekend after competing in the Wildcat Classic, hosted by Bethune-Cookman in Ormond, Fla. ASU went 7-2 through the first two days of the Classic, highlighting the weekend defeating top-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson by a total pin fall of 977-861.
The field is complete with stiff competition with teams such as: Sam Houston State, Alabama A&M, Jackson State, Tulane, and UAB.
“It's a great opportunity to have our first ever home tournament,” head coach
Andrew Chatmon said. “The team is anxious and ready. I think we will do well even with having eighth ranked Sam Houston State and 16
th ranked Alabama A&M in the field. We'll just have to remain focused and finish strong.”
