"Today was a rough day for us," stated Head Coach
Andrew Chatmon. "We looked good in the first game but things went downhill from there. We did have a strong finish against Texas Southern and Tulane, as we were able to start picking up spares. We left a lot of pins out there which really hurt us."
To open up match-play, the Lady Hornets faced Jackson State which they defeated 899-821. In match number two, ASU fell to Rival Alabama A&M with a total pin fall of 817-930. For the third match, the Lady Hornets lost by 10 to Louisiana Tech with a score of 819-829. Match four put the Hornets back in the win column with a 913-886 win over Texas Southern. The Lady Hornets would end the day on a high note with a 849-832 win over Tulane.
Day two of the Hornet Invitational will resume Saturday, at 9 a.m., at Brunswick Lanes.
